Awareness of cybersecurity: case study of mobile devices.
Digital technology is crucial and ubiquitous in today´s life and their importance is only expected to grow. So will the importance and sofistication of internet technology. But hand in hand with benefits of these tools come also threats.
One of more urgent is the problem of cybersecurity. Much has been writen about computer cybersecurity, yet mobile devices remains largely overlooked. Presented study aims to examine the awareness of cybersecurity when it comes to mobile devices as opposed to computers, with focus on differences between fields of study and age. Interest in further education has also been asked for. Questionnary consisting of 27 questions has been administered and sent to students of Librarianship and information sciences and other majors via social media. Data of 78 respondents were proccessed in SPSS Statistics using statistical methods for nonparametric data. Our results show that neither awareness of cybersecurity nor education does influence interest in further education. Same relationship has been observed between the level of awareness and age althought statistically significant difference between level of awareness of Librarinship and Information Science students and other majors has been found.
